Coordinating Consultants:

This project will include the perspective of two ARC members that have been affected by incarceration as consultants. Their input will be vital to the success of the program so it is relevant and directly addresses the emotional needs of the group. The consultants will be compensated $1500 each for consultation support throughout the 12 weeks of the workshop and for 6 weeks prior to the workshop to be active contributors in the design, planning, and implementation of the project for a maximum of 60 hours. Outside of these tasks, consultants will also support the recruitment, engagement, and retention of the group participants. These individuals can also be participants in the workshops and will receive the allotted compensation for that as well. Their opinions, input and commitment to the implementation of this program will be a crucial element to the successful outcomes of the program. Included in the hours prior to the start of the workshop will be spent as training hours by the directors to share techniques in restorative justice, drama therapy and trauma informed practices as a vital element of connecting and creating a healing community. 

*The applicant must be an ARC member. There are 2 positions available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong communicator

· Works well with Team and leadership skills

· Creative thinker

· Interest and initiative in building program

· Proactive and able to complete tasks independently

· Savvy of social medias, texting and emails

· Available for all rehearsals (will be determined prior to the start)

· Available for workshops prior (will be determined upon schedules)

· Has a working cell phone and willing to text from it

· Enthusiastic about theater and drama therapy

· Typing skills

· Restorative Justice appreciation or experience (not a requirement)

· Theatre production skills preferred

· Reliable access to public or personal transportation

TASKS: (training provided)

· Weekly text reminders

· Help with recruitment of participants

· Communicate with ARC

· Processing weekly member/participant compensation

· Collecting data

· Assist with scheduling

· Assist with Marketing

· Production work during performances

Working Schedule of dates for rehearsal:

Feb: Wednesday 6-8pm

March: Wed & Thursday 6-8pm

April: T & W &TH 6-8

May: T& W&TH 6-8

Performances May 12, 13, 14

WORKSHOP LEADERS:

Lynn Baker is a drama therapist with Creative Soul Insight. For the last seven years she has been working with individual clients and facilitating groups with incarcerated men and women, while directing Shakespeare for Social Justice program at Folsom Prison, using drama therapy techniques to access emotions, conflict resolution, enhance self-esteem and trust.

Khimberly Marshall is a theater and film Director and currently the Artistic Director for The MacBeth Project, a theater ensemble of artists of color exploring Shakespeare and Afro Futurism. Previously engaged at the Crocker Art Museum as an Art Corp Fellow, she was embedded in the Block by Block Initiative, creating social practice art in underrepresented communities.
